Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled when you visit asadullahkhan.me (the “Site”). The Site is operated by Asadullah Khan, an individual based in Karachi, Pakistan (referred to below as “I”, “me” or “my”).

1. Summary

  • This is a static, informational portfolio website.
  • The only personal data the Site can receive is the information you choose to send through the contact form — your name, email address and message.
  • The Site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking, and does not require you to create an account.
  • The contact form does not transmit data to a server. It opens your own email application so that your message is sent directly as an ordinary email.

2. What data is collected and why

The Site only processes personal data that you voluntarily provide in order to contact me:

  • Contact form: your name, email address and message. This is used for the sole purpose of reading and responding to your enquiry.

I do not collect data for profiling, marketing or automated decision-making, and I do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.

3. How the contact form works

When you submit the contact form, the Site uses a mailto: link to open your default email application with a pre-filled message. The Site itself does not store your submission. Once you send the email, it is delivered through your email provider and my email provider, and their privacy policies apply to that transmission.

4. Legal bases for processing

Where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, I rely on the following legal bases:

  • Consent (Article 6(1)(a)) — when you tick the consent box and send an enquiry.
  • Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) — for the security of the Site and its hosting infrastructure.

5. Cookies and tracking

The Site does not set cookies and does not use analytics, pixels or other tracking technologies. See the Cookie Policy for details.

6. Third-party services and external links

Fonts are self-hosted, so visiting the Site does not send requests to Google Fonts or other font/content delivery networks. The Site contains links to external platforms such as LinkedIn and GitHub; when you follow those links you leave the Site and the privacy policies of those platforms apply.

The Site is served by a hosting provider, which may automatically record standard technical information (such as IP address, browser type and access times) in server logs for security and reliability purposes.

7. How long data is kept

Correspondence you send by email is kept only for as long as necessary to deal with your enquiry, to maintain a record of our communication, or to comply with legal obligations, after which it is deleted.

8. International transfers

The Site is accessible worldwide and email may be processed by providers located in different countries. Where personal data is transferred internationally, I take reasonable steps to ensure it remains protected.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to withdraw consent, or to data portability. Data principals in India also have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

10. Children

The Site is a professional portfolio and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

11. Security

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and email in particular is not a secure channel for sensitive information.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last revised.
